VB lets you write sloppy code... this was more than I wanted to deal with at the time.

Can't speak for anyone else, but this one aspect of VB has plagued me in a big way. The only consistent thing about VB is its inconsistency.

Hi everyone, I do not know if you viewed my post, I made a VB-PB converter about the same time I made Makedtt.
A little background ...
97 -98 I made a bunch of hacks for VS to implement add-ins my way making VS my IDE for everything. I converted Makeddt and vb-pb to stand alone products. I gave away Makedtt and thought of selling vb-pb for a small fee. I had a dozen or so people try it. Well ....VB lets you write sloppy code... this was more than I wanted to deal with at the time.
I thought maybe just let it slide for a while and make a preprocessor type parser and be good to go. A lot time went by and I did nothing with it and here I am now.
Just starting to organize 25 years of projects, code snips and such. Sooner or later I will run into it. Earlier stuff is on tape and is taking for ever.
Putting an outline together the best I can recall from a decade ago on how I went about it. I'll keep my eyes open for helpful files in my archives.
That's all I have to ramble about at this time. I need to read and catch up here in the forum...if you have a question on what, how or why on the tool I made, fire away. It's been along time and will give it my best shot to recall details or draw a blank

Rod, if the Windows OS SDK would be useful, Mike has a reference to them. I've downloaded them... about 3 gig once extracted. Lot of information there, but it's the real Windoze Bible.
