  • Forum Assumes JPG if not Specified

I never noticed it before, but if you don't put the extension on an IMG URL, the forum assumes it is a JPG.

This image file name, which has no extension ...
    Code:
    http://www.garybeene.com/images/gbcollapsablelistview_main
displays the file name + ".jpg".

Test ... (no .jpg in the image URL)...

i would tend to believe that it is a browser based issue ... ie ... the browser checks to make sure the data is an image ... and then displays it ... regardless of format ...

It uses the external URL mime type.

Open either page in its own tab and use the context menu (in Firefox -- or equivalent in other browsers) to get media/page info.

The two pages have image/jpeg and image/png mime types respectively.
